“It [my Altitude internship] exposed me to a lot of different areas of the marketing world, from PR to strategy to the back-end technological facets,” said Mike. “I also learned the value of being persistent and following up when trying to make things happen.”
After graduating in 2010 with a B.A. in economics and psychology, Mike landed a job as an associate at MindShare, a global media agency and marketing services company. After more than two years there, during which he was promoted to senior planner, Mike moved to his current position as connections manager at MediaVest, a full-service media company.
During his internship, Mike says he learned persistence, confidence in a business setting and how to implement innovative marketing tactics for a wide variety of clients. Today, he uses the broad knowledge and capabilities he learned at Altitude in dealing with multiple agencies that serve different marketing functions to coordinate between clients, agencies and different functional divisions within MediaVest.
“It made me excited for a career in marketing,” said Mike of his time at Altitude. “I was encouraged by the amount of hands-on experience I got during my internship. It’s an agile company with a clear vision and so it was extremely valuable to be able to interact with everyone on the team to understand how all the pieces fit together.”
