Where Are They Now? Former Altitude Intern Mallory Gold

Mallory Gold joined the Altitude Team as the PR and Social Media Intern in August 2012 to May 2013.

Mallory Gold wanted to kick-start her professional life.

As a Muhlenberg College student approaching her senior year, Gold went on the search to find an internship that would complement her media and communication degree. When she discovered the opportunity to intern with Altitude, Gold knew it would be a good match for what she was looking to do.

“The experience I had was priceless, and the internship program really shapes great workers. I was challenged to work hard and was given similar tasks that full time employees would do,” Gold said. “Altitude exposed me to the intangible qualities that are important in any industry you work for.”

Where ever the future takes me, I will always make an effort to incorporate characteristics of Altitude’s amazing culture.

Post-graduation, Gold had her eyes on moving to New York City. She landed a full-time job at Saks Fifth Avenue where she worked as a merchandising assistant, learning about supply chain and the process of placing buys and orders. After one year, she was recommended for the company’s 6-month Executive Training Program, which consisted of professional development courses that prepared her for more intense positions within the company. Gold, who was then placed as an assistant planner, worked closely with the number side of business and helped buyers manage spending.

Recently, Gold moved on from Saks to begin a new journey at Caleres, Inc. as an associate merchandiser. Her new role consists of collaborating with design and product development teams to build intriguing footwear lines that the various brands of Caleres, Inc. will love.

“Where ever the future takes me, I will always make an effort to incorporate characteristics of Altitude’s amazing culture. Everyone wants to see you grow and is willing to do anything to help. The general office culture is one-of-a-kind, which is something that is really hard to find,” said Gold.
