We’re Hiring: Director, Digital Advertising

Altitude Marketing is looking for a full time Director, Digital Advertising to ensure we:

  • Maximize the return on our clients’ digital advertising investment
  • Utilize our in-house talent and available technology platforms and tools
  • Stay ahead of the curve on industry trends and best practices

About the Role

Our Director, Digital Advertising is responsible for strategy, planning, implementation, daily monitoring, optimization, and management of the overall digital advertising practice for Altitude clients. In addition, this person is responsible for cross-training, managing, guiding, and training the digital advertising team and other relevant positions to the product (e.g., web, creative, client success and business development). This person is responsible for ensuring repeatable day-to-day operations, and that SOPS are being met. 

What do we mean by “Digital Advertising?” Here, we define it as any paid online media – display, PPC, Google Shopping, sponsored/native content and industry advertising. Altitude’s digital advertising team is also responsible for upkeep of our reporting dashboard, as well as marketing automation and lead nurture.

This position is located in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania with some work from home and great benefits.

Key Accountabilities and Essential Functions

Priority 1: Be part of High Performing Work Team

  • Follow all company SOPs

Priority 2: Digital Advertising Management and Client Success (60% of the week)

  • Client Interaction / Communication
    • Attend client kick offs and weekly client meetings 
    • Communicate / report back regularly with clients and account managers
    • Provide campaign briefs / strategy for client buy in 
    • Recommend budgets and develop KPIs for campaigns
  • Create digital marketing campaign briefs and plan production
    • Learn Altitude’s clients businesses, industries, demographics, products and goals
    • Perform necessary research and conceptual campaigns
    • Work with content and design teams to create & launch high-performing ad creative and landing pages
    • Setup digital campaigns in Google, LinkedIn and other digital advertising networks
    • Responsible for client leads and lead nurture 
  • Project management & reporting
    • Daily monitoring and optimization of campaigns across all clients
    • Manage at a macro level a small digital advertising team and all campaigns including strategy, planning, production, implementation/launch, optimization and reporting (cross departmental)
    • Ensure campaigns are performing optimally and KPIs are being met, reporting results back to client and account team
    • Ensure all lead forms are properly set up and maintained

Priority 3: Supervise, Manage and Develop the digital advertising team staff (25% of the week)

  • Supervise day-to-day activities of digital marketing team
    • Meet with staff in weekly 1:1 check-ins to review performance and personal accountability
    • Responsible for technical training and professional development staff
  • Codify processes and SOPs within digital marketing team
    • Ensure that there are workflows and processes in place for campaign creative, and design and client approvals
    • Ensure all campaigns are properly monitored and tuned
    • Ensure all client reporting is accurate, up to date
    • Make proactive recommendations on campaigns to pause, increase or significantly update

Priority 4: Online media buying/research in collaboration with account managers (10% of the week)

  • Research publications based on clients industry and goals 
  • Get quotes, recommend budgets and gain client approval on direct buys 
  • Negotiate and purchase online media on behalf of clients

Background includes

  • 7+ years of relevant marketing experience
  • Experience with all major ad platforms including Google Ads, LinkedIn and Facebook
  • Experience with direct response / digital marketing creative – knowing what works and why
  • Able to drive creative experiments and A/B/n testing based on your knowledge of marketing
  • Experience with automated marketing systems and triggered workflows
  • Bold and creative thinking with a relentless drive
  • Experience and skills with Google Analytics and and campaign metrics
  • Proven track record of successful online marketing campaigns and experiments – owning campaign performance and adjusting tactics to meet goals and budgets
  • Managing direct reports
