On September 16, Nick Gorrie, digital marketing account manager, returned to his alma mater, Kutztown University, to speak about his experiences in the world of digital marketing. Gorrie also discussed the new digital marketing major that is in the works at the university.
Since graduating in May 2016, Gorrie has been working with professors at Kutztown to help them in the creation of this new major. The major is currently in the preliminary review stages and the goal is to have it implemented for the Fall 2017 semester.
“I was lucky enough to land and start my first full-time job out of college before I even graduated and my professor was very interested in what I would be doing,” said Gorrie. “He told me that they were in the early stages of working on this new major so they got me involved with it right away; I’m excited about what’s currently being worked on.”
In addition to meeting with professors at Kutztown to discuss the direction of the classes, Gorrie was also invited to speak to professors’ classes about his job and what it took to land it.
And it won’t be the last time Gorrie addresses Kutztown students. He’s been invited to speak multiple times over the course of the year on the subject of digital marketing and its applications in the business world.
