Altitude Marketing, an integrated marketing agency serving technology-focused B2B companies, is pleased to announce its sponsorship of Ben Franklin Venture Idol, which will be presented by the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania (BFTP/ NEP) on November 12, 2015. The event will be held beginning at 5:30 PM in the Innovation Institute at Ben Franklin TechVentures® on Lehigh University’s Mountaintop Campus in Bethlehem.
The event is described as a cross between Shark Tank® and American Idol®, with great food and networking.
“We look forward to supporting and attending this event each year,” said Andrew Stanten, president, Altitude Marketing. “Watching the hungry, smart, driven entrepreneurs pitch their product or service speaks to me – and to the entire Altitude team. Altitude is very much a champion of the entrepreneurial spirit given our own story. BFTP has been a steadfast partner of ours since we opened our doors in 2004 – and was, in fact, Altitude’s very first client – so participating in Venture Idol as a sponsor is a no-brainer.”
In the afternoon prior to the event, judges will select three finalists from a pool of eight technology entrepreneur candidates. The judges will be looking for early-stage technology companies that demonstrate an aptitude for facilitating future growth through the development of a unique product or service, and can demonstrate how their company will contribute to the advancement of the northeastern Pennsylvania economy.
The three finalists will pitch their business concept to investors and attendees in the evening competition. After brief critiques from a panel of investors, each audience member will allocate $100 of “Ben Bucks” in whole or part among his or her favorite contestants. Ben Franklin will award $15,000 in real dollars to the companies based on the audience vote. The competitor to get the most audience “Ben Bucks” wins Venture Idol.
Approximately 250 guests are registered for this year’s Ben Franklin Venture Idol. The event is a sellout and registration is closed.
